Lawmakers want Ban on Online Casino Gambling Lifted

Some senior lawmakers are saying that the Bush administration would do much better to just lift the United States ban on online casino gambling instead of facing the high compensation to its trading partners.

There are many more consequences to this ban than many people realize. IF the government does not reverse its decision to ban internet gambling they are going to have to pay huge fines to those countries that are now suing them for breach of trade agreements. The United States says that they never intended to allow any foreign gaming to go on in their country to they should not have to pay what Antigua and Barbuda are asking. However, the consequences don't end there, Antigua is asking the WTO for their permission to slap a $3.4 billion suite in cross retaliation on the United States by suspending copyright protections on American Movies, music and software, the Bush administration has to ask itself; is banning internet gambling this important.
